Information on the 6th meeting of the Polish-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Coordination Council

The Polish-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Coordination Council for Interregional Cooperation held its 6th meeting on 14 – 15 June 2007 in Arłamów (Podkarpackie Voivodeship). The Polish delegation was headed by Wiesław Tarka, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Interior and Administration, and the Ukrainian delegation was lead by Volodymyr Khandogiy, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The meeting covered the most important issues that are relevant to the cooperation between regions of Poland and Ukraine, inter alia, in the context of the organisation of the European Football Championships EURO 2012 in the territories of Poland and Ukraine.

These included, inter alia, the possibilities of construction and modernisation of border crossings infrastructure at the Polish-Ukrainian border, the preparation for the implementation of programme of cross-border cooperation between Poland, Belarus and Ukraine within the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument 2007 - 2013, cooperation in respect of environmental protection, as well as issues related to planning, spatial planning, and regional development.

The issues discussed were recorded in the minutes, which were signed at the close of the meeting by the Co-Presidents of the Council – Wiesław Tarka and Volodymyr Khandogiy.
