Jacek Cichocki

Minister of Internal Affairs

He was born on 17 December 1971 in Warsaw.

He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy and Sociology at Warsaw University.

Between 1992 and 2008 he worked at the Centre for Eastern Studies in Warsaw, first as an expert in armed conflicts and ethnic problems in the post-Soviet states, and subsequently, as the Head of the Unit for Department for the Caucasus and Central Asia and Head of the Department for Ukraine, Belarus and Baltic States.

Between 2001 and 2004 he was the Deputy Director of the Centre, only to be appointed the Director in 2007. In 1995-1997 he worked as a programme assistant at the programme of Central and Eastern Europe Forum at Fundacja Batorego. He specializes in the area of energy.

He was the Secretary at the Office of the Committee for Special and Intelligence Services at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland.

He is married with three daughters and a son.
