Be prepared

How to prepare in case of a sudden event

These kinds of events may occur fast and without any notice. The planning process in case of any type of danger – including the technical and the natural disaster- requires taking under consideration all possible case scenarios. If you could stay at home, you should keep in mind that electricity, water, heat, telephone service and transportation may not function as planned or not function at all for a long period of time. The specialists suggest to buy a suitable amount of food, water, medical supplies and other necessary products, which could be needed either by you or by your family. In some cases, there may be a need to evacuate your household or the whole local community.

In case of evacuation you should remember to posses the evacuation plan together with the most needed items, which you could take with you:

  • The evacuation plan, containing at least two locations of meeting in case of emergency. Choose one place outside your house in case of any dangerous situation, such as fire. Choose at least one place outside your neighbourhood in case you won’t be able to return home.

  • The plan to make a contact in case of emergency. Choose one person from outside your town to be your contact for you and your family in case you will be separated. Make sure, that everyone has the information about that contact person (the phone number, e-mail etc.)
