Another group of Georgian children in Poland
On 6 February 2009, at about 3 p.m., a special TU – 154M airplane from the 36th Special Aviation Regiment in Warsaw landed at Szczecin – Goleniów Airport. Another 90-person group of Georgian children with 10 carers arrived in Poland on board.
The arrival of the group was organised in relation to the initiative by the Warsaw City Council to provide humanitarian aid to the citizens of Georgia. Some of the children are brought up in a children’s home, others come from the region where fighting began in August last year.
The children, after border clearance conducted by the officers of the Szczecin – Goleniów post of the Border Guard, were taken by two coaches to the “Syrena” Holiday and Rehabilitation Centre in Mielno.
The children will spend there 21 days. The organizers provided attractions during their stay. In addition to resting by the Baltic Sea, trips connected with exploring the most interesting places of the Western Pomerania and the Baltic coast are envisaged.
