New migration policy in Poland
Simplification of rules of residence and employment for foreigners, combating irregular migration, streamlining of integration programmes, enhanced focus on education of migrant children and a possibility of legalizing residence for illegal migrants. These are only a few of the proposals included in the document Polish Migration Policy-the State of Play and Proposed Actions, which was presented by Jerzy Miller, the Minister of Interior and Administration.

Aid for foreigners
More favourable conditions for granting aid and additional benefits to asylum seekers. At a meeting on 26 April 2011 the Council of Ministers adopted legislation guidelines for the draft act amending Act on granting protection to foreigners within the territory of the Republic of Poland and Act on Foreigners.

Essen talks about Polish German cooperation
Tomasz Siemoniak, Secretary of State at the MIA, is joining the delegation of the Polish Senate paying a one day visit to Essen in Germany today. Members of the delegation are going to take part in the inauguration of the Poland-Nordrein Westfallen cultural season. The agenda includes also a meeting with Hannelore Kraftem, the Minister President of Nordrein Westfallen and the President of the higher chamber of the German Parliament (Bundesrat).
