What To Do In Case Of Emergency

Evacuation

The local authorities may order the evacuation from the high risk areas, where you can be staying.

When you will be notified about evacuation you should remain calm, listen carefully and follow the instructions.

  • If you are sure that you still have time contact your family to let them know where you are going and when will you reach the place.

  • Cut off the water and electricity supply, leave open only a gas supply until the local authorities decide otherwise. Only a trained professional can reopen the gas supply.

  • If you have to decide very quickly what to take with you, these are the items to consider: medical supplies, the emergency kit (flashlight, batteries, radio, first aid kit, bottled water), change of clothing, sleeping bag, mattress and one can per person together with the house and car keys.

  • If you are planning to drive at the time of crises, you should study the road system in order to be able to choose a country road when all the main highways are closed.

  • Listen to the radio, the local station are going to give information about the traffic.

  • You should have a winter kit in your car, containing: blankets, flashlight, shovel, starting line, salt or ashes to cover the road surface, local road maps, high calorie food products such as: sweets, sesame grains, raisins, dry fruits, corn flakes, nuts and honey, and the juice cans.

  • Remember to take your mobile phone with you together with the charger. Even if you have some unpaid bills you will still be able to dial the emergency number 112.
